Safety routines
Class size
Adult classes hold up to 16 people, grappling classes up to 20 and teen classes up to 12.
Teens' check-in
Teens check in at the front desk and leave with a parent or a person a parent has named in person.
Contact levels
Gear is required for sparring, contact stays light, and any partner can stop a round by saying stop or tapping.
A coach on the floor
Every class has a coach on the floor, and teen classes always have a second adult in the room.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class
Parents and guests are welcome in the viewing area. Teens train in their own classes, and parents can watch any of them or wait in the lobby. Please stay off the mat and keep your voice down during rounds.
What to wear and bring
For a first class, a plain t-shirt and shorts or leggings without pockets or zippers. Tie hair back, take off jewelry, keep nails short and come with clean feet; no shoes on the mat. We can lend wraps and gloves for the first day.
When to stay home
If you or your teen has a fever, a stomach bug or a skin condition that spreads, stay home until it has cleared. Please don't send health details through the website; tell the coach in person.
Teens: drop-off and pickup
Teens check in at the front desk and leave with a parent, or on their own if a parent has said so in person. We ask to see ID for anyone new who comes to collect a teen, and teens wait inside until their ride arrives.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close on holidays and for storms that make roads unsafe to travel. We let members know by text and by email, and post it on the schedule page.
Leaving a plan
To end a plan, write to us with 30 days' notice. The month in progress is billed, and we can pause instead. The membership page has the full terms.
Screens and phones
Phones stay on silent and in bags during class. Filming is only for the coach to allow, and never of other people's teens.
Questions about the rules?
Ask the front desk, or come and watch a class from the viewing area.
